Long Distance Remodeling in Austin

Here’s a hypothetical situation:

You live in Houston, Dallas, or California, and you want to move to Austin. Maybe you already have a weekend home here or you have partnered with a realtor, looking to buy a home with “good bones”. Either way, you need to find a way to renovate the place to fit your family’s needs, update the infrastructure, and create your design style before you move in.

What do you do? It’s challenging because you are far away, don’t have time to deal with several different parties (architect, contractor, engineers, etcetera), and don’t know anyone local. There is a large investment required, and you expect quality design and construction. This will be a long term home for you, so no corner-cutting allowed!

The answer: Hire an Austin area architect-led design builder like CG&S.

You get one point of contact, one company to handle design and construction, and no chance of finding yourself in between different parties at long distance. You need someone you can trust to run the project; someone organized, with a clear methodology for delivering the project with no surprises. You need inspired architectural and interior design, predictable costs, and skilled craftsmanship in construction.

This is possible. We have built several of these ‘long distance’ projects recently, and have several more in the pre-construction stage. Our remote clients are kept informed on a regular interval by conference call, Skype, or by email. If travel is possible, we like schedule face-to-face meetings on occasion, usually to select finishes at local showrooms, and for major milestone meetings. Periodic visits to the site during construction are also recommended, but not essential.

Our remote clients tell us the design build process gives them peace of mind and mitigates the typical risks inherent in undertaking a major project hundreds or thousands of miles away from home.

Contact us today to start the process of working with CG&S from afar, and making your dream home in Austin a reality.
