Well it’s official, the season finally seems to be changing.
It’s still hot, but something is different: the air is lighter, the light paler; the city sounds different, like you can hear further and more clearly than before. Nestled in this time of change and new beginnings, the Austin NARI Tour of Remodeled Homes awaits to provide all of your remodeling/renovation inspiration. There’s only so far one can go with photos, floor plans, and even 3D models; seeing the fruits of renovation first hand, in person is irreplaceable in terms of feeling out your design preferences and how all those ideas actually function in reality.
Some folks don’t really know what their tastes are, which is totally natural; when it comes to something abstract like how physical space is organized, you can’t imagine what you haven’t seen. Home tours are therefore an excellent way to get out there and see what’s possible within the rich network of Austin’s neighborhoods. The work will all be top-notch quality and coming from various unique angles, fulfilling different goals, fine-tuned to individual lifestyles.
Another big part of the fun is talking to design and construction specialists that act as tour docents.
Construction can often be a mysterious process; the end product hides how it came to be. Talking to professionals who can describe every aspect of a construction project helps demystify what can seem to be a totally overwhelming process. Remodeling, renovation, and construction are fundamentally algorithmic in nature, meaning they can easily be understood step by step if there is a way to go through it piece by piece.
